“S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night!”

Yeah, I’m lame, I know. Before I go any further, my mom mentioned a possible virus downloading when she tried reading my post from this morning. I would like to think I’m paranoid and vigilant enough that it wasn’t my blog, but if anyone notices ANYTHING out of the ordinary, please let me know ASAP. Not that I can really do anything about it, but I can certainly give Jay a project for the rest of the weekend, should anything sinister arise!

Moving on…I went and had a pedicure this afternoon:

I know–Why am I posting pictures of my feet on a food blog? For one, I think it’s funny. And I still maintain that one of these days, I’m going to switch the focus of my blog to more accurately reflect the name I chose, and start posting pictures of food being squished by stilettos. Because I think it would be funny, since I’m sure the vast majority of folks who arrive here by searching for “trampling” or “trampling pics” are sorely disappointed!

After I was done at the salon, I stopped by Dairy Queen for lunch–And I don’t think I’ll be going back there any time soon. The girl who waited on me was either new, or somewhat of an idiot, and far more interested in her break than in waiting on me. And the shift/crew manager wasn’t really any better. I had to ask for a cup for my drink (which they tried claiming didn’t come with the meal I’d ordered even though I explained my discounted price was due to the fact that I used a coupon), and when I asked for some buffalo sauce to go with my chicken, I was told they didn’t have any. Which is funny, because when I got the exact same meal on Tuesday evening after my hair cut, they had plenty. Maybe they ran out, I don’t know. The response I got was (literally), “Uh, we don’t have buffalo sauce,” not “Sorry, we ran out of buffalo sauce.” I think it’s a sure sign I’m getting old, since both the girls I dealt with there looked younger than me by what was probably 20 years. I am indeed becoming a crabby old bat.

After I got home, I lazed around for awhile…It’s such a grey, dreary day that all I wanted to do was nap. Eventually, I made my way into the kitchen to make this:

Easy Chocolate Pie
(or what I’ve also heard referred to as Chocolate Chess Pie). The bambino helped–When I asked what kind of goodies I should make today, he originally said brownies, until I asked if he wanted chocolate pie with whipped cream.

He changed his mind on the brownies within seconds.

I also cooked dinner (finally) this evening:

Another recipe from the WW Power Foods cookbook. Quick Chicken Carnitas.

I was figuring that it was going to be a typical “healthy” recipe…In that it would be chock-full of veggies and crazy spices and it would taste healthy. Oh no. This was good. REALLY good.

Good enough that I wanted to go back for a couple more (that’s actually Jay’s plate, in case anyone’s wondering)! The house smells awesome, good enough I want to lick the walls. I added the shredded lettuce and didn’t use the salsa recipe that you’re supposed to top it with, but I don’t think that took anything away from the dish. While I stopped myself at just the two carnitas, I did have a second piece of pie…It’s rich and fudgey and delicious. I could go back for a third piece, but I’d like us to have some dessert after tomorrow night’s dinner!
