It feels like it’s been a long week already, and it’s only Tuesday, hence the song by The Pogues. I’m tired of the heat…Today and tomorrow are supposed to be the “cool” days this week, with highs in the upper 80s. The rest of the week, it’s back to 90s and up. With no rain. Joy.
Because today was weigh-in day (and while I gained two-tenths of a pound this week, I’m okay with it, given all I ate over the weekend at the Arts Festival), I got up after wrestling with myself and did the Shred. It’s only taken me about 60 days, but I’ve only got two more to go! Then I think I might start on Ripped in 30 Days, because I’m both insane and getting to that point where it feels worse when I skip a workout. But especially on workout days, I need a protein-heavy breakfast. I’m not one who can grab a bowl of oatmeal, dump a bunch of sugary toppings on it, and head out. I’ll be starving within an hour, and suffer a nasty blood sugar crash. I usually have eggs or ham, or sometimes both, like this morning:
Ham & Cheese Squares. I’ve been wanting to make this for awhile. One little square clocks in at 4 WW PointsPlus, for anyone who’s interested.
I thought they were really good. There’s something about the combo of buttery eggs and salty ham that I think is delicious. The fact that there are crushed up saltines in it, makes it that much better. Because of all the berries I bought over the weekend, I decided to have a smoothie as well:
That picture does not do justice to the gorgeous purple color it really was. I had strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, although I ended up having to toss the raspberries. Moldy berries are nasty. Luckily the strawberries and blackberries are/were okay, so I’ll maybe have more of those tomorrow. Along with one of the ham & cheese squares!
