“Sunshine day….”

I have a feeling I’m going to be sore tomorrow. After putzing around for a few hours this morning, I noticed the sun was out. There was enough snow that shoveling was warranted, so we got dressed and headed outside. Jay & I divided the duties…He did the driveway & our front walkway. I took care of the sidewalks (we live on a corner lot). The bambino had a LOT of fun running around the yard. While I was working on my part, he & Jay made a little tiny snowman:

That would be one of Jay’s rotting habaneros as his nose. The bambino was so proud of his creation (even though Jay did most of the work). It was really cute. After we got done, we popped out to get the diapers & milk I’ve been mentioning. When we got home, Jay popped in a movie, and I puttered around the kitchen. I decided to make chicken & dumplings–I wanted some warm comfort food after spending about 2 hours outside.

I think the next time I make this, I’ll either use 2 packages of chicken, or not cut the breasts in half. The dumplings turned out okay, but a couple of them tried to float away.

I did make my bread afterward:

It’s cooling on the counter now, and I’m about to go to bed. Shoveling snow kind of kicked my butt, especially after being out so late last night! Maybe tomorrow I’ll tackle some Christmas cookies in between loads of laundry.
