“Nibblin’ on sponge cake, watchin’ the sun bake…”

While I will never claim to be a Jimmy Buffett fan, I will readily admit, the couple songs of his that I can stomach always make me think of summer. Something I desperately wish was right around the corner, considering this is what the Brookings landscape looks like right now:

I REALLY wish it was March, and I could believe this stuff would melt in a couple days, instead of a couple more months. Because of the barrage of snow and impeding cold that’s about to blast us, I’ve made sure to work out for the past couple days. This morning, because I’m just waiting (still) for our year-end statements to show up & my tension level is slightly higher than normal, I did Jillian Michaels’ Yoga Meltdown. I have a feeling I’m going to sleep very well tonight, and that hopping on the elliptical tomorrow morning is going to feel like a piece of cake.

Despite the cold, I did have one thing to look forward to this afternoon–A lunch meeting at The Pheasant.

I ended up having the French Dip.

I made sure to sit by a window this time around, for the lighting. I’m thinking too, one of these days, I want/need a tripod. It would make things a LOT easier. Of course, so would a better camera, but I’ll make due with what I have for the time being. I have to remember we’re saving for a new furnace, not a new DSLR for my own use.

We ate late enough that while Jay & the bambino got a pizza, I wasn’t really that hungry (although I did eat one of the brownies I made over the weekend). I ended up having some yogurt instead.

Ahh, Fage. So rich and creamy. I have to admit, I was feeling a twinge of jealousy when I read about some bloggers receiving cases of Chobani over the weekend (hint, hint, Fage…Just kidding…Slightly!). However, that went away when I went to break Monday morning, and after popping on Facebook, discovered I’m the lucky winner of a juicer, courtesy of Breville! I’m rather excited about it, I have to confess. It’ll be especially nice come summer, when we can make lots of smoothies.

Sharing is caring!

    • @Loula–I wouldn’t complain either if I could see more sunshine than snow! :)

@Kristin–I think I could get my husband to give up his soda addiction once we start making all sorts of juice. I’m hopeful, anyway! :D
