“Breakin’ up is hard to do…”

If you’re not completely oblivious (like I often am) or preoccupied, you’ll notice a bit more space around my blog for the time being. Yes, I no longer am a Featured Publisher with Foodbuzz. I won’t go into my issues with them, or trash them on my blog–It’s pointless now that I’ve terminated my contract with them, and I did get a few fun things as a result of my time with them. However, a lot of things have changed since I first signed up with them last year, and I really didn’t feel like my blog was a good fit with them any longer. I will be honest that it’s not about the money (well, not entirely, I guess)–I really didn’t make that much with them to begin with. And I blogged for 6 years without advertising. That being said, I have applied to be a publisher with someone else, so ads may or may not come back. Also, while I chose to use one of his videos to illustrate my break-up with Foodbuzz, I actually can’t stand Neil Sedaka (no offense there Neil!).

Last night we ran some errands, and by the time we got home, I was feeling lazy. Instead we had some hot dogs. Tonight, though, I made The Pioneer Woman’s Mini Meatball Sandwiches.

Funny aside–While we were eating, the bambino made the comment that we were eating Nick’s. I’ll have to remember to tell Dick, the owner, about that the next time I see him.

Simple, tasty, and fairly quick to make. I did suffer a casualty, though, while I was assembling them:

I hate when that happens.

It could’ve been worse…I could’ve had that happen more than once! Oh, Pioneer Woman, you just kill me with recipes like this. I seriously could’ve eaten about 5 of these…I did stick with just 2 though. I also made some sweet potato fries to go with the burgers…Sliders…whatever you want to call them.

Those would be the Ore-Ida sweet potato fries I received as my last perk from the Foodbuzz Tastemakers Program. I think I actually like these better than the Alexia ones, just because they crisped up a little better. I’m still not 100% sold on sweet potatoes in general, let alone in fry form. Still, I’m trying to look at them from the point that if I can still satisfy my cravings for french fries, and get something healthy as well, maybe I’ll keep buying them.

The only thing lacking about tonight’s meal was dessert. I still have plenty of cookies left, but I was really craving some ice cream. Alas, I am in my pajamas, and watching The Voice (don’t make fun), so maybe tomorrow I’ll have to pick some up. In the meantime, I guess I’ll just have to go get more cookies!

Sharing is caring!
