I spent most of this morning in serious pain. To the point that while I was in the shower, I started crying, more because I hate chronic pain. I understand why some people get depressed about it. It sucks not being able to do simple things like walk or stand up without hurting. I can’t really play with my child. If I sit too long, my lower back begins aching, and if I stand too long, my legs start going numb. It’s aggravating. But this afternoon, in spite of all that, I started my physical therapy exercises. And damn if I don’t actually feel better! I wasn’t able to do full sets of any of the exercises, except for one of the stretches, and my back still aches a little bit, but I feel better than I have in weeks now.
We went back to the grocery store this afternoon, this time to get a few ingredient-type items:
Pantry stuff and a new-to-us Bob’s Red Mill Cereal.
Since we’ve been eating out a little too much lately (mainly because I’ve been a little too lazy), I did get the kitchen cleaned up and made some dinner. The lemony Gwyneth Paltrow pasta (I’ve made it before). The bread was for some pseudo-garlic bread:
I still have issues with the cheese clumping up instead of smoothly coating the pasta. It still tastes fine, but I wonder if I need to use less cheese or something. I added more pasta water than necessary, and the cheese still clumped up. I wonder if that’s the sort of thing that happens when Gwyneth makes this dish, but she just didn’t mention in the cookbook.
In other news, if you look at the tabs at the top of my blog, there’s a new addition. After we got back from the grocery store, I started up and found items for my new Amazon store. Almost everything in it are things that I’ve used personally…With the exception of the Olympus camera. I just stuck that in there because I desperately want one. But feel free to have a look around. I figure I’ll add to it as I come across new stuff that I want to share!
