“I’m in love with my [mixer]…”

(If you’re a fan of Queen, you’ll get that)

It arrived yesterday.

And gods love my husband for popping home during the afternoon to drag it into the house for me, because even though we live in a small town, I was super-paranoid about it disappearing before we could get home.

I found a home for it on the counter, next to the bread machine and the juicer, but I haven’t used it yet. I also got my box of Norwex stuff, so I had to sort through that. I don’t know if I’ll get to making anything tonight, either, as I have a hair appointment after work, and I need to hit the grocery store. We can’t really have mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving, if we don’t have any potatoes to mash. And part of me is having a hard time deciding what I should make. Something standard and (relatively) simple, like chocolate chip cookies? Something rich and creamy, like cheesecake? Or something like poundcake, which would demonstrate the ease of me not having to stand in place for 10 minutes holding a hand mixer? I just don’t know!! I’m actually thinking that I’ll just wait until tomorrow night, and use it to make the filling for the pumpkin pie.

Yesterday, I did something I haven’t done in a very long time…I got up early and hopped on the elliptical machine. I only did 25 minutes, just because it’s been probably a good year since I’ve seriously done any working out, and I wasn’t sure how long I’d last. I spent the rest of the day in pain. I was going to try and get up early this morning and do it again, but needless to say, that did not happen. I’ll try for tomorrow morning.

But because I was up early enough, I had time to fix myself some breakfast:

Bacon, Egg & Hash Brown Stacks. Very filling. Moreso than the peanut butter toast, milk and grapefruit half I had yesterday. Which reminds me, I need to go and pack myself a lunch and make sure I have adequate snacks today. I had to hit the vending machine yesterday afternoon, although I stuck to a bag of peanuts, rather than a candy bar. Of course, as soon as dinner was over, I dove into a big bowl of birthday cake and ice cream!

Sharing is caring!

  1. I’m just so happy for you and can’t wait to hear about all of the wonderful things you create with it!!

  2. My favorite holiday treat is meringue cookies but they exhaust me. You have to beat those eggs forever but they are so good. I usually add chocolate chips – yum. I was just thinking I might not have the energy to make them this year. So sad.

    • Mmm…Chocolate chip meringues…Now that I have a piping kit, I could make them & actually make them look pretty! Maybe I’ll have to make them myself, although I got kind of burned out on them when I was on Weight Watchers.

    • I feel like I’m in a dream. I just wish Breville and/or Kitchen Aid had just taken my hints & I wouldn’t have had to fork over my own money for it!

  3. Make a list of attachments you need Chica….you know I start Christmas shopping in January….

    • The Breville doesn’t have any attachments, Ma & it’s not compatible with Kitchen Aid. I don’t need anything anyway…I got 2 blades, a whisk & a dough hook. I think I’m good!
