“Wait a minute Mr. Postman…”

It’s that time again…Foodie Penpal Reveal Day!

The Lean Green Bean
First, a little about the program:
-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treatsThe spending limit is $15The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
This month I sent of box of treats to Tina, who blogs at Mom’s Crazy Cooking. Go check out her blog to see what I sent! I was sent a package by a reader, the lovely Judith. She was super-sweet, and sent me some seriously thoughtful stuff, starting with this:
A very sweet letter explaining everything she sent and why.
She sent the pasta because I mentioned how much I like to cook, and how much I love Italian food. Plus, it’s a bit healthier.

BBQ Sauce. I mentioned how much Jay likes having a collection of barbecue sauces, and Judith mentioned that she used this particular one on the 4th of July. Jay started salivating as soon as I pulled it out of the box!

Ah, Dark Chocolate Dreams. She must’ve read through my blog enough to know this is a favorite in our house! The bambino was very excited to see this. I was most thrilled about these:
And yes, those all disappeared the night I got the box! We’ve also since polished off the pasta, and Jay’s working his way through the BBQ sauce. Thanks SO much Judith!!!
And if you want your own box of goodies, go sign up here!

Sharing is caring!
