Easy Hot Fudge Sauce

(From the Better Homes & Gardens New Cook Book, 1930-2000 Ltd. Ed.)


1/4 C butter (1/2 a stick)
3/4 C semi-sweet chocolate chips
2/3 C sugar
1 5-oz. can evaporated milk


Melt butter and chocolate in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in sugar. Gradually stir in evaporated milk. Bring mixture to boiling, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 8 minutes, then remove from heat and cool. Serve warm.
