Janean’s Super-Soft Sugar Cookies

Makes 4-6 dozen


2 C Sugar
1 C Butter
4 eggs
5 Tbsp Sour Cream
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
4 1/2-5 C Flour


1. Cream together sugar, butter, and sour cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing until combined. Add in vanilla, baking soda and baking powder, and mix. Add flour, mixing until just combined (you may not need all 5 cups). Refrigerate dough at least 8 hours, overnight if possible.

2. On a well-floured surface, roll and cut out dough into desired shapes (dough will be very soft). Bake at 350°F for 7-9 minutes, depending on thickness of dough. Frost or decorate as desired.
