“Is that the thanks I get?”

I’ve been searching for this song for a couple years now…And within the first 5 seconds of watching this video, I finally realized why I can’t find it for download anywhere. No matter.

I pretty much pissed away this afternoon, up until about 5 o’clock, when Jay asked if some corn would go along with tonight’s dinner. The plan was for sandwiches & chips, and I figured that if we had decent corn ready, we might as well use it up so we don’t waste it. I got to work on chopping up these guys:

The Jimmy Nardellos. I wasn’t 100% sure what to do with them, so I sliced them up (I swear, I think I did each pepper a different way), then sautéed them in a Tablespoon of olive oil with about 2 cloves of garlic & salt & pepper.

Neither Jay or I has had them before, so I took a couple pieces for us to sample. Jay said they tasted peppery without being hot & had a sweet aftertaste. I thought they were almost buttery, but that could’ve been a result of the olive oil. I opted to make some sandwiches with them:

The one on the end without any peppers was for the bambino–He told us he was going to eat some peppers, but once dinner time rolled around, he changed his tune. We had some chips to go with:

I’ll be honest, I’ve had better parmesan & garlic chips, but I grabbed them because of the brand name (go figure).

The sweet corn was delicious! Jay seems to think that those ears are probably the last of what we’ll be able to eat. Anything else we get will more than likely just be frozen–We’ve got some scraggly ears, thanks to the stupid earwigs. The sandwiches were surprisingly good, considering they were just peppers and cheese.

I liked them a lot–Which is saying something, considering I eschew almost all veggies! I told Jay that the only thing that would’ve made the sandwiches better were some hot Italian sausages…Which I think I will be adding to next week’s grocery list, as I’m sure we’ll have more peppers ripening soon!

After dinner, we went out for some ice cream:

It’s been awhile since we’ve gone out to get ice cream. It was a nice treat. I got my usual Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup blizzard…And it was good. A nice cap to a pretty good day.
