I have no idea why I’ve had “Bohemian Rhapsody” stuck in my head since I got back from lunch today…I don’t even remember the last time I heard the song. No matter. Today was really long for some reason…Like no matter how many times I looked at the clock, it didn’t seem to budge. And it’s not that I was bored, or didn’t have anything to do…I have enough work to last me the rest of the week, without having to resort to filing (although one of these days, I need to get back to work on that). I’m starting to blame the weather. Heat. Oppressive humidity. No rain (unless you live in Sioux Falls). And no break from the weather any time soon.
Which is why I’ve been eating lighter than normal for breakfast:
And in spite of the heat, I decided tonight to make Beef Paprika. It sounded good when I was looking for ideas for the round steak I’d thawed a few days ago, only I didn’t realize it was going to be so friggin’ HOT outside! Still, I needed something that would make some leftovers, and this turned out beautifully.
It tasted & smelled like barbecued beef–The ingredients for the sauce are almost identical to what I use for my barbecue sauce. It was good enough that Jay had 2 heaping bowlfuls (thus cutting into my leftovers, but when he likes something, he really likes it). I started off small:
I’m having lunch at the Pheasant tomorrow, which will be nice, although hopefully not like the last time I was there! I’ll make sure to eat decently before lunchtime (which will be about an hour earlier than that other meeting). I’m thinking tomorrow might be a good night for firing up the grill.
